Introduction to Mentors Wedding Venue

A unique facility which has been specially designed to cater for weddings and the only one of its size on the coast between Plettenberg Bay and Port Alfred.

Mentors Country Estate is close to the N2 on the Garden Route. The travelling time from Port Elizabeth is approximately 45 minutes.

Our unique setting, abundance of open space and farm activities make us the ideal destination for your dream wedding.

Mentors Wedding Venue is situated on a prime spot 4 km north of Jeffreys Bay in a friendly, safe and secure environment.

At Mentors Country Estate your wedding and function will not be affected by any electricity load shedding time schedules due to our own electricity supply.

Chapel(included in the overhead costs)

The chapel can accommodate approximately 120 people. It is decorated with beautiful lead glass windows which contribute its sanctified atmosphere. In the event of the Chapel not being part of the whole function, i.e. the reception being held at a different Venue, the hire of the Chapel will be
R1 000.00 and will include the following:

• Red carpet down aisle
• Podium with PA system, CD player, standing microphone
• Table for signing the register

Other Services and Facilities

In the event of a second member of the same immediate family deciding on Mentors Country Estate as their wedding venue, they will qualify for a 5 % discount on Venue hire.

Brides getting Married during the year during the week (Monday to Thursday), will receive 25% discount on Venue Hire.

Brides who are planning their wedding day during May - August 2011 will qualify for a 50% discount on venue hire in respect of the Damaskwa Hall. Ten percent discount will be alowed on music and decor which includes flowers, draping, and centre pieces, supplied by Susan Lewus.

Requirements (included in the overhead costs)

We will provide you with the necessary chairs, chair covers, tables and tablecloths, cutlery and crockery. Note no chairs and tables will be provided in the Barn, own catering, liquor and decorations will be allowed.

Services (free with the above mentioned ) except Lapa & Deck

• Table placing
• Lay out of tables
• Covering of chairs with chair covers
• Arranging of wine and champagne glasses on table
• Pouring of sherry (on arrival of guests)
• Lighting of candles (prior to arrival of guests)
• Cleaning of venue
• Washing up and counting of crockery
• Cloakrooms are equipped with towels, soap, hand cream, tissues, toilet paper and air freshener
• Co-ordinating of the event

Cost for the hire of these items at the Barn/Lapa depends on numbers.

Bar (additional cost)

A fully equipped facility will be provided at normal bar prices. Sparkling wine, Wine and beverages for table use can also be provided. A deposit of R1 000-00 towards breakage will be payable. Arrangements must be made for waiters to serve tables.

Music (additional cost)

A wide variety of music will be available and will be done by our DJ Paul 072 276 1503. The cost of the music will be determined by the following:

• special music in Chapel;
• preparation of your own play list;
• duration of music required;
• flash lights, strobe lights, sparkle ball and smoke machine requirements.

* According to SAMRO licence all audio needs to be done by Mentors Venue. DJ to be provided by Venue.

The cost of the music will beR2,000.00 up to 24h00, where after an Additional R200 per hour up to 02H00 is payable.

Draping & Decor (additional cost)

Preparation and delivery of decor will only be allowed between 7:00am and 5:00pm from Monday to Friday.
Draping will be done by professionals and fairy lights will also be provided.

group at no additional cost.  This activity will be the first event on their programme.

The Mastrimba band from Strelitzia High School in Uitenhage can also be arranged for a additional cost of R1000.

Weddings on the Beach

Our Coordinator will be able to assist a wedding function on the beautiful beaches of Jeffreys Bay. However, with the unpredictable weather and specifically the wind factor our experience are that the wedding reception should preferably take place at our venue. However brides to be are welcome to discuss the matter with the coordinator.

Conditions

The following Conditions Apply

• The tariff for weddings other than on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be negotiable.
• A deposit of R1 000.00 will be payable in respect of breakages at the Barn.
• The choice of your facility will determine the cost.
• Please note that the function Venues must be vacated by 24h00.
• An additional fee wil be charge for after hours, church rehearsals and decor setup. Arrangements need to be done a week prior to the wedding.
• Should you wish to extend the duration of the function, an additional fee of a R1 000.00 per hour or part thereof, until latest 02h00 will be payable. Please note that more than one function can be accommodated at our venue on a specific date.
• This charge will also apply for late arrival and delay in times pre-arranged with our wedding coordinator (example, if the bride was suppose to arrive at 10:00 and she only arrives at 11:00 there will be a charge of an additional R1000. It is very important that we keep to times arranged because it affects the quality of our service and food!
• A deposit of the total venue hire is required to confirm in order to confirm and guarantee your wedding date at Mentors Venue.
• The balance must be settled 14 days prior to your wedding date.
• Dietary requirements such as vegetarian & halaal can be arranged by prior notice.
• Cancellation Policy: In the event of cancellation 4 months prior to the wedding date, the deposit will be refundable, less an administration fee of R1 200.00.
• If the wedding is cancelled within 4 months of the wedding date, the deposit will be forfeited.
• To enable us to make your wedding/function private and secure, we kindly request a list of names of your guests, 48 hours prior the wedding/function.
